School Dinners

Our menus are produced in consultation with our pupils and discussed at school council meetings. We seek regular feedback in the dining room and ask for pupils and parents menus suggestions.

Our menus change frequently in recognition of the school terms. Seasonal produce and also locally grown foods are used whenever affordable and available.  All of our fruit and vegetables are sourced from a local Kent farm.  Where possible we also use produce from the school garden and eggs from our hens.

We strive to provide a varied, well balanced and nutritious diet for our pupils. The nutritional values are regularly checked using an officially recommended “Children’s food trust” software programme called Hport.

Our recipes are constantly evolving and changing in line with a policy of continuous improvement. This means we will try different combinations in our recipes or try different cooking methods to reduce fat or sugar for example. Salt is not added to our recipes and our kitchen is not equipped with deep fryers and this means we oven bake items therefore further reducing the fat consumed by our customers.
